Welcome to the 10 Days of Chronicles Challenge!
Each day I’ll post a writing prompt for inspiration for you to write about an ancestral family. You’ll craft your chronicle and publish it where you can share it. Aim to spend no longer than 30 minutes each day on your chronicle.

Today's Prompt
Investigate the origin of a family tradition
Every family has things they do together unique to them. Write about one of them - no matter how small! - and be sure to find an image representative of this tradition. Some ideas from other writers:
Nicknames
Trips taken together
Food made for holidays
Dining out for special reasons
Outfits worn for church or holidays
Favorite movies or tv shows watched
Stories shared each time you are together
Steps to Craft your Chronicle
Step 1: Read the prompt and pull out your notes and records on one ancestral family.
Step 2: Select an image (document, photo, map, postcard, artwork, or drawing) and write 50-150 words capturing that moment in time.
Step 3: Ta-da you have a Chronicle! Publish your Chronicle on your social media or your blog to share with family.
P.S. Today's prompt is to inspire you. If it doesn't work for you, write about anything on your ancestors.
I accidentally posted this on the wrong page yesterday. I did complete the assignment. The process focused my mind on a scaled-down and specific topic, so that seems to work: make notes, find an image and write. I realize I wrote 400 words instead of 150, but this took a big chunk of my day. I enjoyed it, but I'm not sure I can create a post everyday for 10 days. I will give it a try. Here is my chronicle posted to my public Facebook page:
