Today's Prompt
Learn about an ancestor's involvement in a social movement
The history of America involves many social movements. Here are some broad movements often not reflected in genealogy writing you may want to write about:
Abolitionist Movement (1830s-1865)
Temperance Movement (1830s-1933)
Labor Movement (Late 19th Century - 1940s)
Conservation Movement (Late 19th Century - Early 20th Century)
American Indian Movement (Late 19th Century - Early 20th Century)
Write about the impact of these social movements on your ancestor or their involvement in one if you have evidence of it.
Steps to Craft your Chronicle
Step 1: Read the prompt and pull out your notes and records on one ancestral family.
Step 2: Select an image (document, photo, map, postcard, artwork, or drawing) and write 50-150 words capturing that moment in time.
Step 3: Ta-da you have a Chronicle! Publish your Chronicle on your social media or your blog to share with family.
P.S. Today's prompt is to inspire you. If it doesn't work for you, write about anything on your ancestors.
