June Chronicles Challenge - Day #5
Use #10DaysofChronicles each time you publish to social.
Welcome to Day 5 of Chronicles Challenge!
You are halfway there! Let’s share some of our chronicles so far. Drop a link in the comments to where you are posting yours.
Each day I’ll post a writing prompt for inspiration to write about an ancestral family. You’ll craft your chronicle and publish it where you can share it. Aim to spend no longer than 30 minutes each day on your chronicle.
Get tips on crafting your chronicles and remember to not over-think it.
Today's Prompt
Examine a key relationship in your ancestor's life
Using the records you have, examine them to see if there is one person who is pivotal to your ancestor. Could be a spouse, child, sibling, parent, employer, or perhaps even a stranger who did something to change your ancestor’s life.
The change could have been for the better or worse - your choice.
Steps to Craft your Chronicle
Step 1: Read the prompt and pull out your notes and records on one ancestral family.
Step 2: Select an image (document, photo, map, postcard, artwork, or drawing) and write 50-150 words capturing that moment in time.
Step 3: Ta-da you have a Chronicle! Publish your Chronicle on your social media or your blog to share with family.
P.S. Today's prompt is to inspire you. If it doesn't work for you, write about anything on your ancestors.
I've been composing my chronicles as Instagram posts and then emailing the images to my non-social media family. Social media feels like everyone is on it until I start doing family history. https://www.instagram.com/denyse_chronicles/
